FL 1000: Team Swiss going strong

“Team Swiss is doing great! Dogs eat like crocodiles on the run and at the checkpoints” reports the handler of Emil Inauen.

The Swiss musher is currently taking his 16 hour brake in Neiden I and is planning to leave at precisely 22.51. - The dogs are in great form and a part from a couple of sore wrists there is nothing wrong with them, adds his handler. - They have been eating so much and so well that Emil ran out of snacks on the way over to Neiden. So far Emil has only had to drop one dog – the only yearling on his team who had some triceps problems.

Emil has only once before participated in the Finnmarksløpet. This was in 2005 where he became rookie of the year and took 5th place in the FL-500 class. He is however not a rookie to this sport and was winner of the Grande Odyssée race in France in 2010 with the same dogs he is running in his team now. Amongst the leading mushers he is the first foreign musher and maybe someone we should keep an eye on. The Swiss precision may pay out later on in this race.
