Frode Holten, Tove Sørensen and Tore Albrigtsen will be trying to take a shot at the lead in this stage of the race. While Bjørnar Andersen left the checkpoint at 8:31 Holten was the first to try his luck and go after the leader at 09:10. Parallel to this Tove Sørensen and Tore Albrigtsen got ready to leave.

The leader Bjørnar Andersen left Neiden still with the 9 dogs in his team, that looked very fresh, strong and well rested according to one of our outside reporters. Therefore it might be hard for Frode Holten to catch up with Andersen again.

Holten needed five hours more than Andersen to complete the last stage and the question is whether his decision to rest on the trail was right. Tor Atle Svorvik, who is an erxperienced Finnmarksløpet musher himself and working at the checkpoint now, said that Holten's dogs looked fresh and good when they came into Neiden, so it seems to have been a wise course of action from Frode. Holten decided to leave 3 dogs with his handler at the checkpoint however and will continue the race with a team of 9, just like the leader Andersen.
