FL-500: Ronny Wingren Quit the Race

Ronny Wingren fra Finnland som skulle starte ut som nummer fire fra sjekkpunkt karasjok kl 20:04 i kveld har brutt løpet.

According to Finnmarksløpets Press Team, which is out at checkpoint Karasjok, Wingren has quit the race since four of his dogs are struggling with strain injuries in wrists and shoulders after the leg from Levajok to Karasjok. The decision was taken after he had taken out his resting time in Karasjok. Wingren says that the driving conditions have varied a lot on the river and at times the trail has been very tough. It is for the welfare of the dogs that he has chosen to quit. This means that it was Bernd Heimich from Germany who started out as number four, 18 minutes after Marianne Kjøthaug from Lanfjordbotn, Norway.
