FL-1000: Roger Dahl looses his team - again!

I natt mistet Roger Dahl hundespannet midt oppe på fjellet og måtte ha hjelp til å få tak i spannet igjen. I dag, på vei til Tana, skjedde det igjen.

"I got into deep snow and was not able to hold onto the sled. The team continued on, but a tree divided the team in two. The gangline broke and ten of my dogs continued on running, whilst four stopped with the sled. I had to mush on with just four dogs" he tells Altaposten.no

But once again he was very lucky.

"I mushed some hundred metres and reached some snow scooter drivers who had stopped the dogs. So all went well this time too" he said to Altaposten.no

Never has this happened before

Roger Dahl is the musher who has participated the most amount of times in Finnmarksløpet. This year he has participated for the 25th time. After the drama last night on the way to Levajok, he told that this was the first time that such a thing had happened to him. And then it happened again!

The accident however didn't seem to affect the veteran. Dahl was fastest from Levajok til Tana including the accident. But the sled was damaged during today's mishap and is now being changed for a different one.

At 9.25pm he left Tana as the first musher. With a new sled and 14 dogs in line. Let us hope that this is the last of mishaps for now.
