"Half of Tana" has been instrumental in the making of the sculptures under the leadership of Hilly Sarre. She was busy this afternoon with the finishing touches in order to go and welcome her daughter Ailas who was soon to arrive at Karasjok in the FL-500. The sculptures are made by child and adult volunteers.

It has been very difficult to make the snow sculptures this year, says Hilly. Changing temperatures has made the snow porous and practically impossible to make reliefs. The past five years Hilly has made snow sculptures in Tana and she thinks that it is great fun and challenging when Finnmarksløpet brings so many people to town.
