It is about 3 to 4 degrees warm and sunny in Karasjok and this has made the trail difficult. The dogs are in great form, but Edland had to switch leaders several times from Levajok.

Upon arrival in Karasjok the team wanted to go up to the bridge, but musher and fellow competitor Bernd Helmich helped Edland and the dogs to take the correct trail.

Despite the tough track Edland is happy with the race so far. She says that she will rest well in Karasjok and is not out to win any medals. The question is whether this is a strategic statement to mislead her opponents and make them release their guard. From Karasjok to Alta a lot can happen - so stay tuned!
