FL-1000: Watching the sunrise with a new wool sweater

- I have been sponsored with a lovely wool sweater and the atmosphere in the team is great. Then it doesn't matter what position I am in. Waling Magnus Gorter Voie takes his time at Levajok checkpoint.

He came into Levajok at 8 am this morning as number 30 of 33 participants, after a fantastic sunrise in the mountains. Waling says that his biggest wish is to come unscathed throught the 1000km, and if he makes it to the banquett on time that will be an fine bonus.

Proudly he shows us the wool sweater he received from Graveniid in Karasjok: "Those who support us little hobby mushers get back twofold" said Waling. Twice he has mushed the 500 km race and this is his debut for the longer distance.

He is greatly looking forward to the trail from Pasvikdalen and to come to his birth place Kirkenes. He looks forward to meeting top mushers on the way.  - They are so nice. Even if Roger Dahl grumbled a little when I "stole" his 33 year old handler from Røros who mushes for the Alta Trekkhundklubb - Alta sled dog club.
