Jeff King (55) from Alaska and winner of Iditarod four times, visits Finnmarksløpet this year. He is full of praise after parttaking at the start and restart today.

Jeff King is going to follow the whole race with fellow countryman Don Lyrek. Lyrek is assistant race marshall for the third time and knows the race very well. They have arrived Skoganvarre now and over the phone King reports:

- It has been a fantastic day. I enjoyed what I saw and experienced both at the start and restart. It was spectacular and exciting. Cultural happenings, children, audience and the mushers made a great impression. The whole event was very professional.

From the start and to the restart at Sorrisniva Jeff mushed the team of dogs belonging to World Champion Sigrid Ekran. This was a very special experience for King:

- To mush Sigrid's team was very special as she has bought one of her lead dogs from me. To stand behind the sled and feel that the dog recognized me when I spoke to him made a strong impression. The atmosphere at the restart was wonderful with dogs, lavvos (sami tents) and lots of people. This day has exceeded all my expectations, King says.
