12.mars er dagen for starten av Finnmarksløpet 2011. Det betyr også at det er nok av spenende ting å få med seg på kulturfronten. Nesten uansett hvor du befinner deg i fylket vil du finne noe spennende nær deg.

At the start today at 11:00 teh Sami artist Elin Kåven greeted the mushers and wished them a happy journey in her own special way. Elin Kåven impressed everybody at the opening ceremony of the Borealis festival last Thursday and today she was again here to wish the competitors much luck in the race.
Later this evening the first of many spectacular outdoor shows. It is at Peskatun, in a slate quarry not far from the re-start area in Sorrisniva, at 1800 o'clock. There will be a lecture about distant galaxies, black holes and powerful supernovas. Also, the show includes a unique performance by the band ÀJA consisting of Kai Somby, well known from the band Intrigue and Harald Devold. ÀJA is a waterfall of sounds and calm moods, combined with screams you cannot imagine. Experience all this is awesome beautiful nature at Peskatun.
Are you going to be in Skoganvarre? Watch out for local Alta rock band Cyaneed and Rock Tour who are playing live at Skoganvarre Camping at 17:00 o'clock.
At 20:00 o'clock Elin Kåven is performing in Hammerfest, at the Arktisk Kultursenter in the city centre.
In Tana the band Fusjon will be playing at Tana Hotell at 21:00 o'clock.
All of you who are in Kirkenes can look forward to a visit by Finnmark's own rock band Cyaneed who, together with the Russian band PMS, are doing the Rock Tour. This happens at Ritz at 22:00.
