Sparebank1 Nord-Norges Prerace Banquet

Generalsamarbeidspartner Sparebank1 Nord Norge er i kveld vertskap for den offisielle startbanketten foran årets Finnmarksløp. På banketten får gjesten flere opplevelser i form av kultur, mat, hilsninger og utdeling av startnummer.

Over the last ten years it has become a tradition to gather mushers, handlers, sponsors, specially invited guests and representatives for the volunteers to a prerace banquet.

All together 500 guests were welcomed in the Finnmarkssalen at Rica Hotel in Alta. This year it is reindeer for the main dish and homemade blueberry ice-cream for desert. Aja and Elin Kåven will perform during the banquet. Both food and the cultural elements are all a taste of Finnmark.

This year, Prime Minister Jens Stoltenberg greeted the race from Oslo through a big screen. Minister Karl Erik Scjøtt Pedersen is giving his speech as we are writing. The MC for the night is actor Frank Jørstad. The last part of the banquet is devoted to presenting the mushers and handing out starting numbers.
