Our reporter at Sirma observed the following at the riverbank just after Sirma.

Robert Sørlie was first out but he stopped after just a few hundred meters from the checkpoint. He adjusted his team, but was not able to move on. Shortly after Ralph Johannessen comes up behind. He stops and will not pas Robert. With the conditions right now it is hard to be up front breaking trail, so Johannessen is waiting for Sørlie to move on. Sørlie, on the other hand, find his dog not really moving very fast, so he asks Johannessen to go ahead. - No, you first, Johannessen insists.

After another attempt to start his team, Sørlie sights: This is going to be hard work! Now Johannessen shows his human side. – Ok, I will go first, he says and passes Sørlie with a team of comparatively fresh dogs. This gives Sørlie’s dogs new energy and together they leave for Levajok.

Moments later Bjørnar Andersen passes our reporter with a fresh and fast team. Brennodden passes 12 minutes after Andersen.
