The leading group of mushers has left Kirkenes and the race is entering a new face. We have talked to Kjetil Backen for some race-analysis.

Kjetil Backen was given the nickname: The-Whipsmart-Strategist-and-Maverick-Norewegian after his success with his schedules for Team-Norway in Iditarod. Backen thinks that Ketil Reitan far from has rested himself out of the race. If Reitan’s team still is functioning well, he will be challenging the others when leaving Varangerbotn/Sirma, on his way to Alta.

Even though there are hours up to the leader, Ralph Johannesen at the moment, we are just half way in the race. The race is still open, and anything might happen, according to Kjetil Backen.
