Young musher Aila Emilie Sarre (19) from Tana has raced very well from Levajok to Karasjok.

It might not be a surprise to those who know the girl from Tana, but others are amazed that she has managed to keep such a high tempo during the long leg on the Tana river. She is leaving the checkpoint in Karasjok at 20:56, from what we know as number four, behind Wingren, Edland and Skjerve.

Aila Emilie Sarre is the youngest participant. It is her second Finnmarksløp. Before the start she said she was going to race as fast as possible, and then just see how it all goes. Already at Jotka she surprised everyone by resting for 1 hour and 11 minutes, which many comeptitiors found a bit strange. – My goal is to finish the race. That is why I let the dogs rest here, she explained to the ones who asked.

Aila is a modest musher. However, she has already shown that she is a good musher and experienced when it comes to caring for the dogs, and she knows what she is doing. She is likely to climb on the result-list as we get closer to goal. Arnt Ola Skjerve, who is ahead of her, leads by only 7 minutes so it will be exciting to follow this in the hours to come.
