FL-500: Wingren has mushed fast to Levajok

Forholdene i sporet har vært optimale så langt i år. Mikael Lanes kom først inn til Levajok. Likevel har finnen Ole Wingren kjørt raskest til nå. Elisabeth Edland ligger en halvtime bak ham.

The conditions on the traisl have been optimal so far. Mikael Lanes arrived first to Levajok. Still, the Finnish musher Ole Wingren has been fastest so far. Elisabeth Edland, Norway, is half an hour behind him.

Wingrens total race-time so far is 12 hours and 6 minutes, which means he has raced extremely fast all the way from Alta. So far he has the quickest team in FL-500. He spent only 5 hours and 26 minutes on the last leg from Skoganvarre to Levajok.

Elisabeth Edland (photo) is right behind, with the total race-time 12 hours and 37 minutes, only 31 minutes behind Wingren. Edland's time on the leg between Skoganvarre and Levajok was 5 hours and 50 minutes.

It is also worth notocing Jan Øystein Dervo and Arnt Olav  Skjerve, both from Norawy. They have total times: 12 hours and 47 minutes and 12 hours and 48 minutes. Only one minute between the two!

It means that top 4 in FL500 looks like this:

1. Ole Wingren
2. Elisabeth Edland
3. Jan Øystein Dervo
4. Arnt Olav Skjerve

However, it is still early on in the race so a lot can still happen.
