New coating for more speed

To create the best possible glide, a lot of mushers change the coating on the sled during the race.

The coatings are the plastic rails underneath the sled. These are worn out after a while and can be changed. Some mushers even prep their coatings with more or less home-made and secret recipes. Besides, there are also coatings created for special snow conditions.

- I change the coatings now, for the first time in the race, says Jo Are Brennodden. Brennodden Jr. has brought many different coatings, but has not changed them until now. - I heard the weather reports and they promised cold and clear weather, thus I choose these that are made especially for such weather conditions, he says.

When details like this are importnat it is natural to ask about ambitions. - To lead all the way to the finish-line, he say first. Then he comments that -No, we'll have to see. It would be great to beat dad, he says and continues that it would be fun if he finally won.
