Harald Tunheim from Alta and Mikael Jutila from Pedersøre in Finland followed shortly behind. Tunheim says that the leg from Skoganvarre has been good even though the tracks have been tougher.

With frost in his beard Harald Tunheim arrived second to checkpoint Jotka in twenty degrees below zero. The musher from Alta reported taht the tracks are a bit tougher between Skoganvarre and Levajok than from Alta to Skoganvarre. Still, it has been a fast leg - done in only 5 hours and 50 minutes this year, compared to 6 hours and 2 minutes in 2009.
