Elisabeth Edland (51) from Norway and Ole Wingren (58) from Finland lead at checkpoint Skoganvarre in this year's 500 km.
- Conditions to Skoganvarre have been perfect. A bit tough due to the cold. The marking of the trail is excellent. I was afraid that the tracks would soften in these conditions. I have been in front since an hour after Jotka. The dogs are in great shape and drank alot when they arrived at checkpoint, said a happy and healthy Edland after arriving at Skoganvarre.
Wingren the fastest
Edland spent 6 hours and 47 minutes to Skoganvarre, while Wingren used 6 hours and 40 minutes on the same distance. Maybe this marks that the fight is on between the two favourites, but a lot can still happen.
Skoganvarre has great weatherconditions and minus 15 degrees this evening. It will be interesting to see how long they rest before continuing to Levajok.
