Free Examination of Dogs

This year the veterinary team of Finnmarksløpet will again offer free examination of dogs the days before the race. Just like previous years these will take place at Strand Camping, and available times will be posted outside the reception where mushers can sign up.

It is also possible to pop in without an appointment, but those with an appointment will be given priority. The days and times are already announced in the program at "The Vet", but her comes some changes:

Thursday there will only be 1 - 2 veterinarians present, but on Friday there will be 6 at the announced times.

- We hope many will use this opportunity to get advice and guidance from experienced sled-dog-veterinarians, and we hope as many as possible will com on Friday, says the Chief Veterinarian Charlotte Leschbrandt.

The veterinarians will also be able to assist in inserting chips on dogs not yet marked, as well as administration and certification of tapeworm treatment, says Leschbrandt.
