Reports announce good conditions in Alta and eastward towards Tana and Kirkenes. The snow-condidtions are better than last year, says Magne Johansen who is responsible for the tracks and Tom Hardy, who deals with marking of the tracks in Tana.

Even though the big loads of snow arrived late, the conditions are far better than in 2009. Track-boss Magne Johansen says they have marked part of the trail towards Tana.

Snow conditions are better than last year on the stretch between Levajok-Tanabru also. This says Tom Hardy and Stein A. Hansen who marks around Tana. This weekend they marked the lay from Tanabru towards Levajok, in temperatures down to minus 30.

– This year we had no problems setting the marks over Jeaggas and on the flat areas between Gurteluobbal and Levajok. Last year we had to use drills. The mushers had to pass areas with no snow last year, but everything is covered in snow this year. With a lot of wind, some of the snow will disappear but it will not be as bad as last year, they continue.

The photo is taken approx. 50 km from Levajok towards Tana between Gurteluobbal and Galbmatjavri.
