Today, December 1st at midnight, is the deadline to register for Finnmarksløpet 2010. Those who register after midnight today are considered latecomers and will start in the order that they register - after the ones in their class who have registered in time.
The registration must be approved before midnight December 1st, 2009. The draw to receive a free race fee is for those mushers who have registered before the deadline, meaning before midnight today.
As of now, 161 mushers have registered for the 2010 race. 94 teams in the 500 km race and 67 teams in the 1000 km. This is a new record and fantastic for Finnmarksløpet!
The draw of start-numbers for those who have registered between Sept 18th and Dec 1st 2009 will happen shortly, and the preliminary startlists will be updated. We emphasise that the startlists are preliminary. You will jump forward on the list if mushers ahead of you withdraw from the competition.
Those who register after December 1st are considered latecomers and will receive startnumbers in the order that they register. It is possible to register in the months to come, and all the way up until the meeting for all mushers on March 11th 2010.
The deadline for paying the race fee is February 15th 2010. If the race fee is paid later than this date it will be NOK 1000,- more expensive - this applies to both classes. There is no cancellation fee in Finnmarksløpet.
