There is a different degree of coverage between Karasjok and Jokta. This means that the GPS-updatings are rather random and sporadic. This will be better from Jokta and in for the 500km part. The GPS get the position from the satellite but sends it via GSM later on. Basically, the positions are sent each quarter of an hour. However, without coverage it wouldn't be possible to send it further. Therefore it's important to check the time when the information is sent, because it could change.
