Inger-Marie Haaland can set up a new speed record. At the same time Brennodden is getting behind. It can be a very interesting race this year, to compare with May Conny Johansen in 2006. She used 10 hours and 26 minutes from Karasjok to the finish line. If Haaland is driving like her, she will be in Alta at 19:30 this evening! But what is happening with Brennodden?

They have been driving much faster in the tracks since a long time. The tracks are fast and there are indications that Haaland has more willing power to drive out of Karasjok. Johansen drove on the same stage in 2006, with 10 dogs - against Haalands 9 dogs, really fast. She used 6 hours and 26 minutes on to Jotka and 3 hours and 16 minutes down to the finish line. Her average speed was at 13,2 km an hour. It is now left to see how Haaland is going to make it. The reporters say that everything is very good with her dog team; she has everything with her to leave Karasjok with speed.

 Brennodden is getting behind.
Brennodden is getting behind more and more. First he had to go to the head of the sledge to make the dogs run. After that he had to shift his leading dog, because it wasn't motivated to finish. As it wasn't enough; he had to turn back after they didn't want to get going, he had to put out one more dog. This underlines Brennoddens own point - Before the start he said: When all comes to a point, it is about animals, and not machines.
