Frode Holten (Røros), who is one of the favourites in the 1000 km open race, stood for 4 hours and 2 minutes in Skippagurra before he went on his way to Neiden. His biggest rivals Rune Johansen, Bjørnar Andersen and Roger Dahl chose to take their mandatory 12 hour stop at Skippagurra.

This means that Holten will have to take his longest mandatory pause at a later checkpoint. He might choose to do so at Neiden, which is 94 km from Skippagurra.

Holten started out at 0:20. He had to take out one of the dogs from his team, leaving him with 13 dogs to continue. He will therefore be in Neiden early tomorrow morning.

It seems clear that Holten chose a different racing plan than his closest competition. His choice to take a later brake will open the room for discussion on tactics.
