Both dog-teams that started on the long way towards Alta looked fresh and fit, and their muchers were feeling the exitement at the start of the last leg. -I can feel the pulse rising now, says Wingren who started a minute behind Skjerve. Skjerve, who is in the lead, says that he is just as motivated to win now as he has been all along. He does however have one dog who is sligthly reduced and he says the victory is still just as far ahead as it has always been. Both mushers have so far taken out two dogs and are now racing with six dogs each. Torneus, who started at 7.38 am and Edland who started at 8.06 am, have respectivly eigth and seven dogs in their teams, and can dispite the large time difference from Jergul pose a threat for the two leading teams.

At Jergul there is now -11 C, it is still a little windy, with south-eastern fresh breeze. It is clouded and mainly dry weather, with reports of higher temperatures later in the day.
