Sled accident for Edland

Already before she reached Jotka the track conditions and strong wind created difficulties for Elisabeth Edland, one of the favourites in the 500 km race.

Elisabeth Edland met her first obstacle in the track already before she reached Jotka. In a steep slope the sled was taken by wind, and overturned. Luckily the sled was not much damaged in the accident, and both musher and dogs could continue unharmed. In spite of the accident Edland was the first to arrive at Jotka, and she continued after only three minutes. She will repair the sled when she reaches Skoganvarre, according to her handler Per Olav Gausereide.
