Ida Karlstrøm has been struggling with the motivation of the dogs.
Karlstrøm made a heavy decision by taking her best leader dog off the race in Kirkenes. Ever since the race has been heavy for her. On the way to Neiden she got the total parking. The dogs just would not go futher. Karlstrøm had to go then with the dogs in front of them. When they could see the Neiden lights she got the dogs going again.
After that she was trying to hang on to Mats Pettersson's speed but had to give up after while. Also Thomas Hoffman passed Karlstrøm awhile later.
She is not especially dansing on the roses but is happy to have started toward Varangerbotn.
Karlstrøm has 11 dogs when she is departuring Neiden.
