Anne Beate Tunheim was the seventh participant to arrive to Skoganvarre, the second checkpoint in the race. The dogs looked fine, but she said she fell in Holtsbakken just after the races´ start. The sled broke in two in the fall, and she had to continue to Skoganvarre with a broken sled all the way. She will possibly change sleds in Skoganvarre.

Anne Beate Tunheim´s first race began dramatically as she had an accident with her dog sled when she had only finished the first two kilometres. She fell on the ground and hit her head on the ice, but without major injury. - I just thought - this is not happening. This cannot be real. We did not hit a tree or anything, so I really do not understand what happened, she said when she arrived to Skoganvarre. The rookie continued with her neck hurting and a damaged dog sled to Skoganvarre and finished her first round with style. She managed with difficulties to hold the sled together all the way, and was tired when she arrived to Skoganvarre. - I will have a good rest before I start again with a new sled, she said.
