Harald Tunheim was clocked 10:56 at Neiden. He is the first musher that reached Neiden. He is likely to take his 16 hours' rest here. Though the dogs look tired, they are in a good form.

Harald Tunheim have come to Neiden with his 12 dogs that are still in a rather good form. He says that there was lots of cold wind on the way to this checkpoint. Half way to Neiden he had to plough his way through banks of snow that were up to half a meter high. And some parts of the road were very slippery. Otherwise everything went very well. He doesn't try to hide that he is tired and is going to have a 16 hours' rest here. Yet he fears a bad weather forecast. In this case he will have to go further in the night, and he is not very enthusiastic about it. Moreover he is clearly aware that Ralph Johannessen keeps moving very tactical a short distance behind him.-It's good to have such a competition. Ralph is a fearless musher who knows what he is doing, says Tunheim about his rival.- A short rest on the way is much better for dogs than a long rest they have on the checkpoints. But on the other hand I prefer to give dogs a good and "comfortable" rest, adds the veteran.

Tunheim also praises his new leading dog that have run very well inspite of challenging road conditions.
