At Levajok the more psychological part of the competition has already started. Trond Ørslien and Harald Tunheim have chosen to apply black a layers for the next part of the race.

In dog-sledging applying the right type layers is very important to get the best "glide" as possible. The black layers are used when temperature s are from -15 degrees and down. the two contestants are expecting cold weather and harder drive heading for the next checkpoint. Ørslien tells that the right layer is not as important in the beginning of the race as it is in the end, when the dogs are getting tired.

Tunheim smiles and let us know that he applied something "secret", But that secret stay safe with him though.

Tore Bergby has chosen differently. he chose to use the yellow layer, expecting  mellow weather conditions.

- Everybody has got their opinion on what is cold and what is mellow, he sais, while taking a look at his opponents.

The forecast says rising temperatures around midday. Who made the better decision? We will have to wait and see.
