Magne Johansen; Western-trail responsible reports, that all trails are now ready. The trail leading the mushers from the 8-dog class out of Alta has changed this year. A change for the better, Magne assures.

It took a little longer for the snow to fall in Finnmark this year, and fortunately it came in time for the race and Trail-crew. Magne Johansen was concerned due the absence of snow, but today rather satisfied.

A tired Magne confirms that the entire west trail is finished.

"The snow conditions are good, but mushers might still expirience some areas are with some, though very little rocky-spots. The conditions through Gaissane are especially good this year. The-trail crew togehter with local defenses, spend this weekend maikng the trails wide and ready with their vehicles. - I predict that thet there will be a record breaking speed across the Gaissane this year", says the cheerfull trail-responseble.

This is how the trail will be, both in the west and the east by the end of this week. Picture taken Tuesday
