The prize money is ready, and never before has so much money been invested in prizes. If the prize of the cabin is shared out over 2008 and 2009, there is a total of 540,000 kroner prize money for 2008.

There will be at least 150,000 kroner in cash prizes, dealt out between the two race classes as such:

There will be other, additional prizes. Special prizes will be announced later.
The prize of a cabin (Rago model) from Saltdalshytta (worth 450,000 kroner), goes to the best overall musher in the 1000 km race for both 2008 and 2009. This prize has undoubtedly raised the prize money at stake, but the increasing attraction of Finnmarksløpet has also led to more prizes.
The table for 2008 includes prizes from Elite-partner Polaris, who this year will also give away their largest ATV, a Sportsman 800. The vehicle is worth around 100,000 kroner.
Our other Elite-partner, LABB, is offering dog pellets worth 50,000 kroner.
Main-partner, Balto, offers prize money of 15,000 kroner cash.
