At 11.24 on Sunday morning Ben Livesey passed the goal line in the centre of Alta as the "Last Man Standing" after 1000 long kilometers behind the sled. - It felt good to see the finish-line, Livesey said before he let his handlers take his dogs away to a well-deserved rest.

Long distance mushing might not be what one normally connect with the British. Even though, Ben Livesey has been mushing dogs for more than seven years and is an experienced sled-dog racer. He lives with his family in Jøkelfjord, not far from Alta towards Tromsø. Many were in the city when he crossed the finish-line to greet him. Last Man Standing is not a disappointment in the world of sled-dog racing. Knowing that you are alone on the trail the last km towards goal is a challenge that deserves respect.

There are only winners in Finnmarksløpet, and Ben Livesey is one of them! Pressesenteret - the Press centre - for Finnmarksløpet congratulates him!
