Monsen in with 13 dogs

Lars Monsen has managed to keep 13 dogs to Kirkenes. He gives credit to his girlfriend Nina Skramstad.

She has trained dogs since August and used them in Femundsløpet in Feburary. "The dogs look really great" says veterinarian Jean Luc Forster and Hanne Fris who checked his dogs on arrival. "There was a few starch shoulders, but the dogs were in good shape before the race". The condition of the dogs varies from year to year depending of the snow conditions. "I haven't done much, groundwork was done in August and it was Nina that trianed them" says Monsen. A veterinarian has only taken out one dog. anyway.
