We met Tove Sørensen and her helper Ingrid (16) last Friday morning at Strand Camping. It is the twelfth time they are in Finnmarksløpet ."I don't except to have very good result this year, my purpose is to go through the race with all the dogs", says Tove. "This year is another kind of race, the majority of dogs are young. We probably can't win the race this year, but it has still been amazing", she laughs. "And I don't pressure my dogs, they can just run at the speed they want".

A near-death experience

A veteran like Tove Sørensen has had many experiences with her dogs. The races she has been in have also been dramatic. "It's always dangerous when the weather is bad", she says . She is so experienced that she can tell where the weather is bad . Once she experienced to drive outside a cliff and had a "near death experience".
