The soft track is not a wanted condition for the mushers. Practically this means that the dogs need much more power to hold the speed. They feel it in the legmuscles when they come into the checkpoint, comments raceleader Magne Johansen laconicly. The temperature is above zero and there is nearly no wind. Because of this it is not likely to expect the mushers to arrive in Skoganvarre before eight o'clock this evening at the earliest.
