The first teams in Joatka

Ole Wingren, who started 5 minutes after Elisabeth, arrived Joatka at 15.51 as the first one. 2 minutes later Elisabeth also drove into Joatka.

Everyone expected that Elisabeth would drive a fantastic fast race, especially if the weather would stay as nice as it is. But she is really dependent on the weather (as we could see in Femundsløpet). Her dogs get problems and stop when the weather becomes worse. Still she remains the favourite for many.

Katy Meier, a German musher who starts for Sweden, told us that the other mushers just would see Elisabeth Edland once: at the start. And then they would not see her again until they passed the finishline. She has a unbelievable fast team, Katy said right before the start.

The third who got to Joatka was Mona Kolstad, also a favourite. She could win the Femundsløpet this year. But already on the first part, she was 20 behing Edland.

Daniel Larsen came in as fourth, right before Steffen Neumann, Kari Thomassen, Jan Vidar Dahle and Terje Hilmarsen.
