Polaris Norway AS is bringing out the big guns with the donation of a Sportman 800 EFI as first prize in the 1000 km race.

When Harald Tunheim crossed the finish line in 2006, he won a Polaris Magnum 330 4x4. This machine is now regarded as lightweight in comparison to what Polaris are now offering as first prize.  The Sportsman 800 EFI is the biggest and toughest ATV in the Polaris collection.  It has a powerful liquid-cooled Polaris Libertyâ„¢ 800 engine with electronically-controlled fuel injection and two cylinders.

The prize of an ATV is much sought after in the mushing world.  A musher with a large team of dogs can use the ATV for training before enough snow arrives to allow training with a sled.

The Administrative Director of Polaris Norway AS, Truls Tvete, tells Finnmarksløpet that the company wants to continue with its investment in the race.  He stresses the importance of the excellent and long-lasting relationship that Polaris and Finnmarksløpet have with each other.  Executive Manager for Finnmarksløpet AS, Hanne Rosenberg, agrees with Truls Tvete, and emphasises that, without Polaris, it would be impossible to arrange the race.  She also states that the involvement and enthusiasm shown by Polaris is of priceless importance to the development of Finnmarksløpet.

Polaris and Finnmarksløpet have much in common.  We are both fond of nature and like to encourage the outdoor life.  As we see it, a partnership between Polaris and Finnmarksløpet is to the benefit of both parties, says Adm. Dir. Truls Tvete.
