What a feeling...

Crossing the finishing line filled me with such strong emotions, says the exhausted, but happy runner up Hans Petter Dalby. Despite a very good race the 34 year old will not run the same distance next year.

Preparing for the 1000km race gives me no time for other things but to train the dogs and going to work, and it's just too much a sacrifice for me, he explains a couple of hours after finishing the race. He still finds time to talk to us in the middle of taking care of the dogs, and before taking a well-deserved shower. -Sure, I am tired now, but when crossing the finishing line in the 1000 km race you feel pretty satisfied with yourself, he says. Dalby is obviously very preoccupied with the wellbeing of his dogs, and has received much praise for this all the way throughout the race.

Emotional gesture

- The thing that makes me participate year after year are my feelings about my dogs. Just before arriving at the finishing line I made a stop to thank all the dogs. I wanted to do it in some piece and quiet place before reaching the finishing area and the chaos awaiting the dog lover tells us. After this emotional gesture towards his dogs, he crossed the finishing line as number two, after an exciting race against time, where it became clear that he from quite early on contended for the first price.
