Showdown

Harald Tunheim left Karasjok at 6:30 this evening. Expected crossing of the goal line in the city centre is sometime around 5 o'clock early tomorrow morning. Hans Petter Dalby left Karasjok 1 hour and 7 minutes after Tunheim. The chase is on!

The race is by no means over. Last year Tunheim was leading when he left Karasjok - but had to give in to Roger Dahl on the last stretch towards the finish. He left Karasjok 50 minutes before number two, Roger Dahl. They arrived Jotka at the same time, but Roger Dahl crossed the finish line almost forty minutes before Tunheim.

Will the same happen this year? Tunheim has been in the lead throughout the whole race, but gets tough competition from Hans Petter Dalby now that the teams are getting closer to Alta. There's a lot of questions. Will the snow create worst conditions for some teams? Who has got the freshest team? Who has given their dogs the most and the best rest? Who has divided the dogs' strengths the best throughout the race? Who dares to mush the dogs the hardest towards goal in order to win the race? We are up for an extremely exciting finish - in about 8 hours we'll know.
