The trail from Sirma to Levajok is slightly changed this year, which at the same time will provide an extra challenge and fantastic views for the mushers. Just listen to what Krister Hök, responsible for the trail in the eastern part of the state, has to say about the new part:

”The trail turns away from the Tana river at Levssejohka approximately 17 km outside of Sirbma. After that you follow the old tractor road from the E6 to the reindeer feeding district 9's slaughter- and divisionfence at Levsse. Then the trail turns northwest towards and over Baisvarri and leads further over a fairytale landscape with valleys, hills, small open fields and lakes. The landscape reminds me of the film Lord of the rings. In the background the Gaisene mountain range crowns the view. No matter at what time of day the mushers are going to be going through this area, they will be witnessing a fascinating area, both in moonshine and daylight. All of this will be in the mushers heads when they are getting tired on the trail."

Do we need to add anything more? I don't think so!
