Bjørn Klubbnes, one of the Mushers who had to give up the 500 km race, admires the huge effort of the Vets. - They provide a wonderfull and respectable job, said Klubbnes.

Klubbnes has spoken about the extrem and ice-cold weather that all the participants needed to face. The Mushers and the dogs are able and used to face the coldness, but we should not overlook all the volunteers at the all check points. The vets are one of these examples. They also must stay in the coldness with their frozen fingers while the dog-teams go by. All the dogs are checked and the state must be written down. - It is respectul to stand outside with the noteblock and write the conditions of the all dogs in the worst coldness , said Bjørn Klubbnes from Nordreisa. Their job for our dogs is just fantastic.

Bjørn also pointed that this year was especially hard and he never had to compete in such extreme condotions. Neverless, he did not lose his courage as he said, next year he will take part again.
