This years' start was sent directly on the internet. This was a test and we registered about 90 computers that received the show. If you want to see the show you must click on "videoklipp" on the menu to the left on the Norwegian part of this site. It was particularly meeting points along the track that were informed about the site.

Cafés, pubs and a museum along the trail had put up large screens so that the audience could see the start.

Trond Ørslien and Niels Westphal commented the start.

- We did not risk putting out the address to the site on the front page as it could have ended with a massive computer crash. Finnmarkslopet.no had 6 million hits during the race last year and we were anxious that our friends in Eastern Finnmark did not get to see the the start, says executive press officer Niels Westphal. - Today when the first musher crosses the finish line in Alta we'll be sending it online, and at least the first 500 people that logs on will be able to see it on their computer. It will be broadcast on: http://www.finnmarkslopet.no/live.jsp. We will also send directly from the winner ceremony Wednesday night at 6 o'clock.

The show from the start lst Saturday was made by media students at Finnmark University College and the local high school in Alta. A total of 9 people were involved. People were also ready in Neiden/Tana and in Tromsø to help with the technique and software. An exciting cooperation between many persons and institutions/businesses.

It is great knowing that for example in Tana 50 persons got together and watched the start in Alta directly online.
