Arne Liaklev may have the chnace to be on top at the end of the race now that it is coming to the end. He has already taken in 30 minutes on Frantzen and Skramstad who are ahead on the way towards Alta. Liaklev has usd his rest-time very differently than the two ahead of him and obviously his dogs have more to give.

The two teams in the lead are breathing down each others necks now. Even though the speed is good, the dogs are noticing the hard work after almost 500 kilometers in front of the sleigh. The two teams can probably see each other now and. It might make them stressed and make them push the dogs so that they do not hold all the way to the finish line.

This is where Liaklev's tactics might be working out. He rested a lot at the start of the race when the conditions were much harder than they are now. This is called "Last Minute Push". For real it means that he has divided the power of the dogs well and can push them harder towards the end. This is most likely what Liaklev is planning now. Nothing is set until the first team crosses the finish line in Alta this evening between 7 and 8 o'clock.

Last news: Liaklev has been observed in second place. It is also said that one of the teams in the lead, probably Skramstad, got lost from the trail and has lost some time.
