Erle Frantsen keeps the time. Exactly at 4.13 am she arrived at the checkpoint Jergul. According to our staff members on site she still holds her top form - reportedly she is in a better condition that her handlers (see picture). Also her dogs do not show any sign of exhaustion. Chief-veterinarian of race Marit Holm says to this that it is a pleasure to see, how good Erle looks after her team of dogs.

Erle admitted that she were tired now. On the way hither there were many snow flurries, she told. - Due to the poor sight I lost the trail one time, which cost me certainly 30 minutes. The "dog-vidda" (a sector which is feared by the mushers) lived up to its reputation once again. In Jergul she now has to take the obligatory 6-hours-break, as well as all the other mushers who are expected to arrive bit by bit in Jergul later on. I hope that it takes a bit longer until I get company, closes Erle Frantzen.

Currently we got the news that Nina Skramstad was registered at the checkpoint - so the race is not over yet! The only what is sure is that the fight for the podium will be carried out between two women this year. N.B.! Nina reduced the gap between them by 22 minutes.
