Women totally dominate on 500 km

Erle Frantzen left the checkpoint Karasjok, after a 3 hours 40 minutes break. Dervo on the other hand decided to give up in Karasjok, because he starts feeling ill because of the strong cold. So the situation for the competition changes now dramatically! On the leg between Levajok and Karasjok Nina Skramstad is racing on top speed and is so maybe on the way to take the lead.

For the last distance Skramstad needed 20 minutes less than Frantzen and she was the only one who made that part under 6 hours. Not more than 1 hours (!) separates the teams now, due to the tempo of Skramstad. The competition is nearly over, but it seems that the space between the two will decrease until the end. Both took the same time to rest, and so the speed will now be the crucial factor for victory. Skramstad is allowed to start again the earliest at 00:04 and she will fight strongly to stay breathing down Frantzen's neck.

Next to speculate about is who will be on the third place after the both women. With Katy Meiers still strong position and a further good race it could be possible for us to see three women on the podium!
