The truck from Levajok to Karasjok is in the first part of the race very long distance. They are almost 90 kilometers with not many possibilities to tactical manouevres for the competitors. At 17:42 noone has arrived to Karasjok.

A group of three dog teams were seen at Tana-River about 60 km from the check point. On the top was the Finn Mikael Jutila, followed by Katy Meier and the third was presumably Erle Frantzen.

As crucial can be the decision how the Mushers will split up their breaks. Everyone in the open category has so called pause time for 20 hours. Six hours from that stand for Jergul, the station after Karasjok. The aditional hours will the competetors devide after taktical decision. Many will take it in Karasjok, therefore the situtation can eafter the check point furthermore dramatic.Who will start als first? Who would like to wait? The taktical and mental strenght will be also very importants as the phycical conditions.

Our expert Trond Ørslien is holding the opinion that both Katy Meier and Erle Frantzen Feuer will stay bumper to bumper until the finish on Monday in Alta.
