Some Scouts from the southern Norway participate this year in the Finnmarksløpet: They have created, for the Mushers, the first and only camp-check point, in Karasjok.

The camp is available for the Mushers after 500 kilometers. The scouts from the southern Norway have built, with a huge effort, the check point in Karasjok. They could proudly demonstrate, that at 14.30 war enough space for all participants. The scouts arrived in the northern Norway only for creating the coldest check point of the sled dog race.

Karasjok is for the competetors for more then 500 kilometers the strategical place. From the experience, it could not be speculated on the possible positions in the finish until the Mushers have not passed Karasjok that is still about one day and night far to get. No doubt, the Mushers are happy to talk about the way to and from Karasjok.

The last imformations states that in the moment the Norwegian Erle Franzen has the top position of the race and possibly will arrive the first in Karasjok. She crossed the Tana river followed by Nina Skramstad and Katy Meier, born in Germany.

The weather conditions were ideal with the temperature of minus 26 Celsius, sunshine and almost no wind; aside from the freezing temperatures in Vidda.
