Harald Tunheim is obviously not willing to lose his margin in the 1000 km competition. Shortly before 8 o'clock in the morning he continued his northeastern route towards Skipagurra. The dogs seemed good in form and they started great from the checkpoint. As we got to know Roger Dahl is also planning his early departure. Of course Tunheim shall not get a too huge margin in front of Dahl before the track goes through the challenging part in the Eastern Finnmark.

It will stay exciting during the morning, because it is not sure how long all the different mushers will take their rest. In the 1000 km distance there are two breaks obligatory - one of 16 hours has to be made after checkpoint Joatka I and before Karasjok, whereas the break of 8 hours has to be taken in Karasjok.

The participants in the 500 km class have the possibility to rest in whole for 20 hours. 6 of these hours shall be taken in Jergul. For the rest of the hours one of the following checkpoints can be chosen: Joatka I, Skoganvarre, Levajok and / or Karasjok.
