Record-Race of Harald Tunheim

Harald Tunheim from Alta reached in record time the checkpoint in Levajok, as he arrived there tonight at 03:30. Tunheim and his 14 dogs completed the approximately 90 km in only five hours and 40 minutes.

That race as fast as lightning surprised also his handlers. Nobody expected Tunheim to complete the distance to Levajok under 6 to 7 hours. Thus hectic spread out, when the team reached the checkpoint.

Now it is the question, if the other mushers of the 1000-km-distance can keep up with this speed or if veteran Tunheim has made a healthy margin. Even 1 hour after Tunheim arrived, there was no trace of any of the others.
