Erle Frantsen was the fastest on the trail Jotka - Skoganvarre and was the first musher in the class of 500 km. But the other favourites are close on her heals. The nearest is Elisabeth Edland, followed closely by Reidar Stenmark and Geir Wang.

Tunheim has to satisfy the expectations that were set in him because of his role as one of the favourites, and so it was not very surprising that he was the first to reach Skoganvarre. Because of that it was so much more interesting, that Erle Frantzen, who takes the 500km, arrived directly after Tunheim. She was the fastest on the trail Jotka - Skoganvarre, and proves with that the impression, that this year the women will command this class.

According to the institute of meteorology the wind will get less over the night, but it will stay cold further on, with temperatures till minus 40 degrees in several sectors. With that the track will be good all the time, although the pulling of the slay in that cold takes all the more energy of the dogs. That can disarrange the order between the mushers, with advantage for the most experienced long-distance-mushers. Nevertheless the mushers are close as perls on a string.
